Cinco años tras la construcción del Muro de Berlín, la cifra de muertos superaba el medio centenar:

West Berlin organizations have made public details of the inhuman aspects of the wall while East Germany is continuing its preparations to celebrate it as a by-work of peace on Satudary. The Berlin police have records of 58 refugees killed along the wall since August 13 1961. A western registration office has confirmed the deaths of 68, and reported the almost certain but not yet confirmed deaths of 13 more refugees along the border between east and west Germany.
